The organizational flash and background trimming (oval) for the 38th Cavalry Regiment’s Troop C were approved 14 February 2011. Their design employs yellow and scarlet, the first the official branch color for Artillery and Cavalry units and the second a color commonly used in heraldry for units from both branches.
The 38th Cavalry Regiment, Troop C flash is worn centered on the maroon beret, the beret color denoting an Airborne unit. Officers wear their non-subdued insignia of rank centered on the flash, while Junior Enlisted Soldiers and NCOs wear the 38th Cavalry Regiment Distinctive Unit Insignia instead.
Ovals are worn beneath Air Assault and Parachutist badges on Service Uniform coats (AGSU and ASU, including the dress variation of the latter), shirts, the blue or green Army Maternity Tunic. The two items are considered a single item for placement and measurement (detailed instructions are found in paragraph 22–16b(3)(d) of the
January 2021 edition of DA PAM 670-1).
The recipient of a Meritorious Unit Commendation for service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom between August 2009 and August 2010, Troop C, 38th Cavalry Regiment appears to have been inactivated.
