As with all uniform components we offer at The Salute Uniforms, our Female Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) Skirts are manufactured only with materials that have been approved by the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Systems Center—"Natick” for short—following its strict design specifications.
But our AGSU Skirt is unique: It marks the first time that we not only followed Natick’s manufacturing and design specifications, but also were honored to be offered a contract to assist Natick in the Research and Development (R&D) involved in crafting those specifications. We were grateful for this opportunity, particularly since our close communications with Natick last year had helped us become the first non-AAFES vendor to ship the eagerly awaited AGSU, even in the face of major logistics issues caused by COVID-19.
In addition to producing samples of the AGSU Skirt on strict deadlines, our collaboration with the Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center also involved our evaluation of the different iterations of the AGSU Skirt and submission of feedback on materials and manufacturing processes based on our industry expertise.
We here at The Salute Uniforms are grateful for the opportunity to make this exciting new Army uniform component the best it can be, and are happy that the collaborative process was so fruitful that Natick offered—and we have accepted—several future R&D contracts.
As the name implies, the Army Green Service Uniform Skirt is worn exclusively with the Army Green Service Uniform approved in November 2018 but rolled out extensively beginning in 2020. Its pencil-style dress design, polywool gabardine material, and myriad of sizing options guarantees a smooth fit and impressive durability, with a inverted box pleat vent at center back providing a stylish but professional appearance.
Important Sizing Information
To ensure your new AGSU Skirt is a perfect fit, there are two additional measurements we need in addition to the Size, Length, and Type selections you make using the drop-down menus to the right:
- The measurement of your hips at their widest point.
- A standard waist measurement, but taken with your forefinger and middle finger inserted between your waist and the measuring tape.
These measurements have an impact on which Skirt Type—Straight, Mid-Curve, or Curvy—will fit best on you. Please include these two measurements in the “Comments” section presented to you during checkout.
Note: You will be notified if the measurements lead to a to change in your Size/Length/Type selections for this Skirt.
