This classic black four-in-hand necktie is authorized for wear by the U.S. Army with the male Army Service Uniform, Class B Army Service Uniform, and the Army Dress Uniform (before retreat). It is tied in a Windsor, Half-Windsor, or four-in-hand knot, and the bottom of the tie should fall in an area less than two inches above the top of the belt buckle but not past the bottom of the belt buckle.
Conservative tie tacks or clasps may be worn with the four-in-hand tie. Soldiers and officers are also authorized to wear a pre-tied four-in-hand tie provided it meets the guidance instructions listed above.
