The Army Green Coat is worn with both the old (1954 to 2015) Class A Army Green Service Uniform Army and the Army Green Dress Uniform. Its construction and basic design are highly similar to its successor, the Army Blue Coat (worn with blue Army Service Uniform and blue Army Dress Uniform).
Single-breasted with four-buttons, the Army Green Coat extends below the crotch and fits comfortably over the shoulders and chest area to create a slight draped effect in front and back. A firmer fit at the waist helps the coat conform to the body’s natural shape, but if properly sized it should not have the appearance of tightness or flaring at the coat’s bottom hem. The four pockets in front are all true, functional pockets.
Our Army Green Coats ships as you see it here, with extra-long, unfinished sleeves to accommodate customers who wear the same basic size but have varying arm lengths. Note that the same basic coat is worn by Officer and Enlisted personnel alike, and those purchasing the Army Green Coat for an Officer will also need to purchase the 3/4-inch-wide black sleeve braid that is sewn onto both sleeves. You may wish to consider our sleeve-alteration services, which include hemming of sleeves and attachment of
braids,
chevrons,
service stripes, and
overseas bars, all of which must be purchased separately. These services will be presented when you add the Coat to your shopping cart.
