The 101st Sustainment Brigade Combat Service ID Badge (CSIB) is taken from the color version of its unit patch, or Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, which was approved for wear in November 2009. To learn about the symbolism of the imagery and colors employed in the design of the CSIB, use the link below to visit our page dedicated to the Brigade’s unit patch.
After being redesignated as an organic component of the 101st Airborne Division in 2015, the members of the 101st Sustainment Brigade began wearing the 101st Airborne SSI instead of the patch that had been approved for them in 2009. But because Soldiers may choose which Combat Service ID Badge to wear if they are authorized more than one, current members of the Brigade (“Lifeliners,” from the Latin unit motto “VITA VERSUS”) who were with the unit from 2005 to 2015 may wear this CSIB with the Army Service Uniform instead of the 101st Airborne Division CSIB.
