The 113th Sustainment Brigade CSIB (Combat Service Identification Badge) employs the color version of the insignia that was approved as the Brigade’s Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, also called a unit patch. That insignia was approved 22 October 2010.
An arced rectangle with a gold border, red field, and three bendlets, charged with an upright sword, make up the 113th Sustainment Brigade Combat Service ID Badge. The trio of bendlets stand for the three branches—Ordnance, Quartermaster, and Transportation—that make up the Logistics branch, which is the parent branch for Sustainment units. An upright sword denotes the Warrior Ethos that guides the actions and decisions of the Brigade’s Soldiers and Officers. The red field and the buff bendlets make up the colors used for Sustainment organizations.
Nicknamed “Steel Horses,” the 113th Sustainment Brigade was formed in 2008 from the units of the inactivated 113th Field Artillery Brigade (minus the 5th Battalion, 113th Field Artillery Regiment). The Brigade’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company is garrisoned in Greensboro, North Carolina, and its major subordinate units include the Brigade’s Special Troops Battalion and the 630th Combat Sustainment Battalion. Its motto, "First Line, is prominently displayed
