The 213th Regional Support Group Combat Service ID Badge (CSIB) is a metal facsimile of the color version of the Group’s Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, with heraldic imagery recalling the unit’s history of participation in six major wars/conflict and an assault landing during World War II, its ability to provide support to all Army branches, and its origins in the state of Pennsylvania and the city of Allentown. In 2007, the unit as deployed to Balad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the “surge” in troop numbers that had begun earlier in the year. Serving as one of five sustainment brigades under the 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command
In 2007–2008 the Group deployed to Balad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During this mission, it served as one of five sustainment brigades assigned to the 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, arriving in July 2007 and returning in April of the next years. On 2 December 2009, the unit was awarded a Meritorious Unit Commendation for its “superior mission execution and management” in providing “seamless logistical support to forces conducting combat operations in Iraq,” again proving that its personnel take seriously the Group motto of "Honor First."
