U.S. ARMY 287TH SUSTAINMENT BRIGADE COMBAT SERVICE ID BADGE (CSIB)

A major command in the Kansas Army National Guard, the 287th Sustainment Brigade was activated 1 September 2005 in Wichita, the city the Brigade would be headquartered in up until its inactivation on 1 May 2016. In addition to its Headquarters and Headquarters Company, the Brigade comprised the 287th Special Troop Battalion, the 169th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, and the 891st Engineer Battalion. After the Brigade support for Operation Iraqi Freedom, deploying around 225 Soldiers to provide logistical support in Finance and Personnel matters for U.S. and Coalition forces in 2008 – 2009, its efforts to "Susain The Victor" were honored with a Meritorious Unit Commendation, its only one to date (2019) for service in the War on Terrorism.

The 287th Sustainment Brigade Combat Service ID Badge is worn with the Army Service and Mess/Evening Mess uniform jacket and features the same design as found on the Brigade’s Shoulder Sleeve Insignia.
