Featuring the same design as its Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (SSI)
, the 301st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade Combat Service ID Badge reflects the multi-dimensional role the Army envisioned for the MEB as part of its modularization efforts that began with Brigade Combat Team concept in the mid-2000s. The Brigade’s Chemical Battalion is represented by the benzene ring (six-sided figure); its Engineer Battalions are denoted by the color Scarlet and the walls of the embattlements; subordinate Military Police units are represented by the branch color of green and yellow (gold) pike.
Combat Service ID Badges are always worn on the right side of the Army Service/Dress and Mess/Evening Mess uniforms, but different placement guidance is employed for male and female Soldiers and Officers. Only one CSIB may be worn at a time regardless of how many the wearer has been authorized.
The 301st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade is a subordinate unit of the 416th Theater Engineer Command of the Army Reserve and is headquartered at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington. In addition to Engineer and Chemical Battalions, the Brigade also has a Support Battalion, which is also stationed at JB Lewis-McChord. The Brigade’s motto, "Assured Passage," is found on its
Distinctive Unit Insignia and reflects one of the most important missions of an MEB.
