The 302nd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade Combat Service ID Badge is a metal badge based upon the color insignia approved as the Brigade’s unit patch, or Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Combat Serve ID Badges are the rough equivalent of the colored shoulder patch formerly worn on the Class A Green Service uniform which was replaced by the Army Service Uniform, except they are worn on the right front of the jacket of the Army Service and Mess / Evening Mess uniforms. Also, the colored patch on the discontinued “Army Green” uniform indicated current unit, whereas Soldiers who have been authorized more than one CSIB may choose which one to wear.
Red, blue, and green fields on the 302nd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade are taken from the branch colors of the unit types that make up the Brigade: red for Engineer, blue for Chemical Corps, and green for Military Police. A double-sided fasces is also a Military Police symbol conveying authority and power; its two sides reflect the dual nature of MP responsibilities, which include both law enforcement and the military function of securing operating areas to provide the Brigade with full freedom of movement. The ultimate goal of the MEB is summed up in the unit motto, BELLUM VERSO CUMULAVI—Latin for “Combat Maneuver Enhancement.”
