The Combat Service ID Badge of the 304th Sustainment Brigade is a metal facsimile of the color version of the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (unit patch) originally approved for the 304th Support Center in March 2006. You can read about the extensive symbolism of the insignia’s graphics, as well as the connotation of the color scheme, by visiting the 304th Sustainment Brigade Unit Patch page. Because the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia was approved after the unit had received its current designation, it does not include any type of reference to the unit motto of "America's Logistics Center" that was adapted while the unit was still serving as the 304th Support Center.
Introduced at roughly the same time that the Army Service Uniform (ASU) was announced in the mid-2000s, the Combat Service ID Badge, or CSIB, was intended to be the new uniform’s equivalent of the colored Shoulder Sleeve Insignia indicating current unit that was worn on the left shoulder of the Class A Green Service uniform. The CSIB is worn on the right side of the ASU coat or the Mess / Evening Mess jacket, with different locations prescribed for male and female Soldiers; guidance on placement of the CSIB is found in Chapter 20, Section 17 of Department of the Army Pamphlet 670-1,
