Combat Service ID Badges, or CSIBS, were introduced in 2008 along with the Army Service Uniform. Worn with the Army Service/Dress and Mess/Evening Mess uniforms, the CSIB was intended to be worn in “in place of the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia—Former Wartime Service Insignia,” i.e., the colored version of the unit shoulder patch worn on the Class A Green Service uniform (the insignia on the CSIB is adapted from that patch). The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia of the 322nd Civil Affairs Brigade was approved on 5 March 2008.
Please consult the January 2021 edition of Department of the Army Pamphlet 670-1, Section 22-17 (
pp. 331 through
333) for detailed guidance on the wear of the CSIB.
