The 46th Military Police Command Combat Service ID Badge is a metal replica of the color version of the Command’s Shoulder Sleeve Insignia. Green and yellow, branch colors of the Military Police, are used exclusively in the design, with a key in the center to emphasize the Command’s responsibility to provide security for both military and civilian personnel. At the business end of the key are double wards (teeth on both sides) in the shape of the Roman numerals for “4” and “6,” suggesting the unit’s numerical designation.
One of the 46th Military Police Command’s top standing priorities is to provide support to civilian first responders in the event of a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, or Nuclear incident. When carrying out that assignment, including training missions related to it, the 46th MPC falls under the command of U.S. Army North. It recently (August 2018) began training to develop expertise in mass decontamination and urban search and rescue operations, and is expected to begin to share any new developed techniques with other National Guard units in the months ahead.
