The 54th Field Artillery Brigade Combat Service ID Badge (CSIB) is the same insignia founded on the color version of the brigade’s Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, a patch that was designed for wear on the right or left sleeve of the Class A Green Service uniform. CSIBs are worn on the right side of the Army Service Uniform introduced into 2008.
Approved on 29 July 1968, less than a year after the Brigade was formed from the Headquarters and Service Battery, 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery, the design of the insignia on the 54th Field Artillery Brigade incorporates only scarlet and yellow—colors that have been associated with Field Artillery for many decades. In the insignia’s center is a vertical field piece, taken from the Field Artillery insignia of branch. A scarlet bar divides the background into two distinct sections that represent military preparedness on both offense and defense, invoking the cry and motto of the Brigade, "To The Guns."
