Based upon the unit’s Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, the 560th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade Combat Service ID Badge is pin-on metal device worn on the right front of the Army Service/Dress uniform and the Mess/Evening Mess uniform. While the CSIB ranks fifth in precedence of all ID badges, it is surpassed by just two others that are prescribed for wear on the right side of the uniform: the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Service ID Badges.
Only one other ID badge may be worn with the CSIB at any given time, but Soldiers have the option of moving any authorized right-side ID badge of lower precedence to the left side so the CSIB may have more prominence. Please refer to the January 2021 edition of DA Pamphlet 670-1, Section 22-17 (
pp. 331 through
333) for complete guidance on the wear of the CSIB.
The 560th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade was the first Brigade of its kind formed in the Army National Guard. A major command in the Georgia Army National Guard, the Brigade spent the last three years of its service life headquartered at the Cumming Regional Readiness Center. Before its inactivation in 2016, the Brigade had notched many notable achievements, among them conducting the first Battlefield Surveillance Brigade (BFSB) capability exercise in 2008, conducting the Army's first bilateral task force operation using a BFSB during the Northwind 2008 exercise, and brought the first Intelligence Officer Basic courses ever Rwanda and the nation of Georgia.
