The Combat Service ID Badge (CSIB) of the 804th Medical Brigade is based upon the Brigade’s Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, which was originally approved on 17 July 1990 while the unit was still designated as the 804th Hospital Center. Its overall design is a white hexagon with a maroon border, oriented so that one point is up. Inside the hexagon is a maroon cross bearing a yellow, six-pointed star.
Maroon and white are used for the insignia because they are the longstanding colors associated with the Army Medial Corps. The cross is a symbol of both medical aid and assistance as well as comfort and mercy; the gold star denotes excellence and noteworthy achievement. The six points of the star represent, along with the six sides of the hexagon, denote the six New England states that fall under the unit’s command jurisdiction. Absent from both the unit patch and CSIB is the unit motto, "To Your Health."
