The 80th Training Command (TASS) Combat Service ID Badge, or CSIB, is taken directly from the Command’s unit patch (Shoulder Sleeve Insignia). Approved in 1918, the insignia feature three mountains (rendered in blue on the colored version of the unit patch) that represent the three states the 80th Division drew upon when it was originally organized: Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. All three are home to part of the Blue Ridge parkway, hence the bluish mountains of the insignia and the Divisional nickname “Blue Ridge.”
Headquartered in Richmond, the 80th Training Command now has three Training Divisions under its organizational control that provide training in combat support and combat service support. The 94th Training Division, headquartered at Fort Gregg-Adams (formerly named Fort Lee) in Virginia, specializes in Force Sustainment; the 100th, based at Fort Knox, is responsible for Leader Development; and the 102nd trains Soldiers in Maneuver Support.
