The Combat Service Identification Badge (Combat Service ID Badge, CSIB) of the Joint Readiness Training Center Operations Group features an upright bayonet bisecting a pair of wings inside a field shaped like a parachute, emphasizing the Group’s designation as an Airborne unit as well as its coordination with the United States Air Force in developing, overseeing, and conducting training missions emphasizing operations combining forces from more than one branch of the U.S. military.
Joint operations have been critical in the successful prosecution of the Global War on Terrorism and Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, and the excellent job that the JRTC Operations Group has done in preparing units to carry them out has been recognized with three Army Superior Unit Awards. The first was issued in July 2011, the second in October 2012, and the third in July 2014 for training carried out between February and December in 2012.
