Although the Garrison Cap was replaced by the black beret in 2001, we continue to carry them here at The Salute Uniforms in order to meet the uniform needs of veterans and others seeking authentic headgear made to correct Army specifications.
This version, for enlisted Soldiers and Noncommissioned Officers, is manufactured in Army Shade 491 and is manufactured with 100-percent Army polyester. (Older caps had been manufactured in Shade 344). In keeping with regulations, it features a cord edge braid of the same material as the cap. An interior leather sweatband offers increased comfort.
The Garrison Cap is to be worn so that the front vertical crease is centered on the forehead, forming a straight line with the nose. While the cap is to be worn tilted slightly to the right, under no circumstances should the side of the cap touch or rest upon the ear. Crushing the crown of the cap to form peaks at the front or rear of the cap is not permitted.
