The Female Officer ASU Blue Coat is worn with both the Army Service Uniform and Army Dress Uniform. Like the version for males, it is a single-breasted, four-button coat, but it is designed with a notched rather than a peak lapel, and instead of four front pockets it has two slanted-flap front pockets.
Unlike the Female Enlisted ASU Coat, the Officer’s version has no shoulder loops; shoulder straps displaying rank insignia and manufactured in appropriate branch color(s) are attached using special clips. And the enlisted coat’s 1/8-inch-wide sleeve braid is replaced with a 3/4-inch-wide braid consisting of a stripe made in the Officer’s branch color (or first-named color) upon which two 1/4-inch-wide gold braids are placed with a quarter-inch of space between them.
Like all our coats and jackets, the Female Officer ASU Coat comes extra-long, unfinished sleeves. The extra length is to be sure we accommodate the various arm lengths found within the wearers of any given size/length combination, which requires us to leave the sleeve unhemmed. We do offer hemming and other sewing services for the coat that will be offered when you add it to your shopping cart. Please keep in mind that items such as Overseas Bars and Sleeve Braid must be purchased separately should you wish us to attach them to your uniform.
