The Female Enlisted Army Blue Coat is worn with the blue Army Service Uniform and Army Dress Uniform. It is a single-breasted, hip-length coat with four buttons and two slanted front pockets, notched collar, button-down shoulder loops, and side-body construction. It is nearly identical to the coat worn by Female Officers except for its shoulder loops—Officer coats have none and insignia is displayed on shoulder straps sewn on near the sleeve seam—and the sleeve ornamentation, which consists of a single, 1/8-inch-wide soutache braid on each sleeve. Officers wear a 3/4-inch-wide braid consisting of a stripe of the color (or first-named color) of the service branch upon which two 1/4-inch-wide gold braids are placed a quarter-inch apart.
Like all coats we manufacture and sell, we ship the Female Enlisted Army Blue Coat with extra-long sleeves that are unhemmed in order to accommodate the varying arm lengths of customers in the same coat size and length. You can choose to have the sleeves hemmed after you receive the coat or choose one of our optional alteration services, which include sleeve and pants hemming, sewing on of insignia (chevrons, overseas bars, service stripes), and so on. These services are offered after you add the coat to your shopping cart.
