Authorized from 1954 until 2015, the Army Green Uniform came in two variants, Class A and B, with the primary difference being that Class B did not include the Army Green Coat. Nicknamed “Army Greens,” the uniform was officially known as the Army Green Service Uniform, a designation which the Army recycled in 2018 when naming a new uniform to replace the blue Army Service Uniform. What’s more, several authoritative sources—from media outlets such as Army Times magazine and the New York Times to the Association of the United States Army and several U.S. Army and Army Reserve Web pages—refer to the new uniform as “Army Greens,” though it is more commonly referred to as “Pink and Greens” or “Pinks and Greens.”
