Half-inch black braid was used as ornamentation on both the male and female versions of the Class A and B Army Green Uniform, which was completely replaced by the blue Army Service Uniform on October 1, 2015. On the uniform worn by male officers, two of the half-inch braids were sewn a half-inch apart alongside the outside seams of the trouser legs. For the female version, on the other hand, the half-inch braid was used on both the slacks and the coat. The configuration of the braids on the female slacks was identical to that used for the male trousers; on the female coat, the braid was sewn parallel to and three inches above the bottom of each sleeve.
Because the half-inch black braid is used for such disparate purposes on the Army Green Uniform, we offer it in a variety of lengths. The 30-inch strip is more than adequate for the two braids on the female coat sleeves, while three yards should offer plenty of leeway when being applied to the trousers or slacks of either a male or female uniform. You may also purchase the braid by the yard, so please verify your selection before adding the item to your shopping cart.
