A service stripe is awarded to Enlisted members of the Active Army, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve for every three years of honorable active Federal service (or creditable Reserve service) in any of the branches of the United States Armed Forces, i.e., the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, or Coast Guard. Service need not be continuous.
This service stripe is for wear on the Blue or White Mess or Evening Mess uniform jacket. Stripes are centered on the bottom half of both sleeves and run from seam to seam. The lower end of the stripe is inserted into the front inside seam 1/4-inch above the cuff braid (Blue jacket) or 3 inches above the sleeve bottom (White jacket). The topmost portion of the stripe is inserted into the back seam of the sleeve. Additional stripes are positioned 1/8-inch above and parallel to the first stripe.
Use the selector boxes to the right to configure the service stripe to meet your uniform need. Select Large if the service stripe will be worn on a Mess/Evening Mess jacket with Large rank insignia (or Small for Small rank insignia). Then choose the fabric color (blue or white) that matches the color of the jacket upon which the stripes will be placed.
