U.S. ARMY RESERVE CAREERS GROUP UNIT CREST (DUI)

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. Current regulations do not permit the DUI to be worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.

The Distinctive Unit Insignia of the United States Army Reserve Careers Group was originally approved on 3 September 2009, the same time the organization’s Shoulder Sleeve Insignia was approved. It was subsequently redesignated for the U.S. Army Reserve Careers Group on 25 November 2020.

The insignia consists of two components—a scroll of dark blue (denoting the organization’s status as a unit in the Adjutant General’s Corps) with the unit’s Latin motto ENIHILUM PARUM (“Never Enough”) inscribed on it in silver, and a shield-shaped badge containing a bust of the MinuteMan (taken from the Seal of the Army Reserve, two stars on a white fess (horizontal band), and a crossed sword and musket with bayonet on a red field.

Patriotism is embodied in the MinuteMan, the archetypal citizen-soldier (now called “Citizen Warrior” by the Reserve) whose dedication to the defense of country was the linchpin of America’s victory in the Revolutionary War. This motif extends to the musket and bayonet that visually links the origins of the Army Reserve to the creation of the Army Reserve Careers Division, predecessor of the Army Reserve Careers Group; the sword denotes military preparedness.

A white fess is an emblem of readiness to serve the nation, a trait that defines the organization and the Army Reserve. The two stars are a reference to the authority the Group has to serve Army Reserve Soldiers across the globe, and the gold border around the entire shield is a hallmark of distinction.
