The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Men’s Dinner Dress Blue Jacket Uniform (DDBJ) may be pre-scribed and worn for formal evening occasions and other ceremonies or events at which civilians would be expected to wear black-tie clothing. Its most eye-catching component is the Mess Jacket, which is identical to the one worn by U.S. Navy and Coast Guard personnel with their DDBJ uniforms but with Coast Guard Auxiliary buttons on the jacket in lieu of USN/USCG buttons.
Please note that while the DDBJ ships with the six silver Auxiliary buttons on the left and right foreparts of the jacket attached, the
two chain-link buttons used for closure are sold separately, as are the
sleeve lacing,
sleeve devices, and any
miniature medals or miniature insignia. If authorized, the
AUXOP badge,
Past Officer badge, and large National Staff Badge are worn with this uniform, while ribbons and nametags are not. The white Combination Cap is also worn with this uniform.
