Like its blue-hued counterpart, the Coast Guard Auxiliary Men’s Dinner Dress White Jacket Uniform (DDWJ) may be prescribed and worn for formal evening occasions at which the equivalent civilian attire would be black tie It is the same uniform as the United States Navy (USN) and Coast Guard (USCG) Men’s DDWJ except with different buttons, rank insignia and service devices, and of course Auxiliary-specific medals.
Insignia of rank is displayed on hard shoulder boards attached to shoulder loops on the Dinner Dress White Jacket; the loops are included in the Jacket’s price, but are shipped unattached (we do offer a service to have them sewn on prior to shipping when you add the Jacket to your shopping cart). The gold buttons used on the USN and USCG uniforms are replaced with silver ones embossed with the Coast Guard Auxiliary emblem; similarly, the gold cummerbund worn by USN and USCG personnel with the DDWJ is exchanged for a silver one with the Auxiliary uniform. The white Combination Cap is the only headgear authorized for wear with the DDWJ.
