Except for sleeve ornamentation and service-specific medals and devices, the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Women’s Dinner Dress Blue Jacket is identical to the garment of the same name worn by female Coast Guard and Navy personnel. This bolero-style jacket has a narrow shawl collar and a column of three silver buttons, embossed with the Coast Guard Auxiliary emblem, on each of the jacket’s front panels. The jacket is worn with no front closure, which contrasts with the Coast Guard’s option to wear linked-chain buttons for closure like on the Men’s version of the jacket.
Although miniature medals and devices are prescribed for wear with the Women’s DDB Jacket, exceptions are made for the Operational Auxiliarist (AUXOP) and Past Officer badges because they are manufactured in a single (large) size. Neither ribbons nor nametags are authorized for wear with the jacket.
Note: Our dress coats and jackets are manufactured and ship with unfinished sleeves longer than most customers would ever need. This is to accommodate various arm lengths and to reduce total alteration costs since placement of sleeve stripes and devices is based upon distance from the sleeve end, allowing you to hem the sleeve to the perfect length before sewing on sleeve ornamentation.
We do offer a variety of sleeve alteration services that will be suggested to you when you add the coat to your shopping cart should you prefer to have the coat arrive ready to wear.
