This is the currently authorized version of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary (USCGA) Women’s Service Dress White Coat, worn with the uniform of the same name. It is a single-breasted coat of conventional length with a formfitting design, rounded collar, and overlying half-peaked lapels. Four large silver buttons, embossed with the USCGA emblem, are used for closure; other features include a breast pocket welt and a sword slit over the left hip.
Hard shoulder boards are used to display Auxiliary assignment/position and are secured to the coat with shoulder loops which are included in the purchase price of the coat but which ship unattached. We do offer a variety of sewing services that will be suggested to you when add the coat to your shopping cart should you prefer to have the coat arrive ready to wear, including an option to have the shoulder loops sewn on by us.
The Coast Guard Auxiliary relies heavily upon U.S. Coast Guard uniform standards when determining its uniform guidelines, and in turn the Coast Guard almost always follows the United States Navy’s lead in adapting new uniform styles. Anticipating this to be the case with the Women’s Service Dress White Coat, we are also offering an Auxiliary version of the Navy’s recently introduced
choker-style Female Service Dress White Coat featuring a standing Mandarin collar, six USCGA Auxiliary buttons for closure, and princess seams; you can
view the choker here.
Note: Our military dress coats and jackets are manufactured with unhemmed sleeves longer than most customers would ever need. This is to accommodate the disparity in our customers’ arm lengths and to ensure there is an abundance of material with which to work while altering the sleeves to regulation length for each individual.
