Except for its coat buttons and service-specific insignia and ornamentation, the Coast Guard Auxiliary Men’s Service Dress White Uniform (SDW) is the same as the SDW Uniform worn by Navy and Coast Guard personnel. Authorized for wear by Commodores and Auxiliary Clergy, it is prescribed and worn for ceremonies and official functions where the civilian equivalent would be black-tie attire.
Only a white, unmarked undershirt may be worn under the Service Dress White Coat, and insignia of office is displayed with
hard shoulder boards on the shoulders of the coat. The
white web belt worn with the SDW Uniform may have either a
plain satin silver buckle or a silver buckle embossed with the
USCG Auxiliary emblem. A white
Combination Cap is mandatory when wearing the SDW Uniform.
