The women’s Female Dinner Dress White Jacket (DDWJ) is worn exclusively with the uniform of the same name, which is a mandatory uniform for all Coast Guard Officer ranked Lieutenant Commander (O-4) or higher and select Enlisted personnel in the E-9 pay grade (all Gold Badge Command Master Chiefs and the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard). It is an optional purchase for all other personnel, Officer and Enlisted alike, and we ship unattached shoulder loops with the DDWJ that are used to secure the
hard shoulder boards worn on the jacket by Officers; Enlisted personnel wear
rating badges to indicate rate and rating and
service stripes for length of service. These insignia and ornamentation are sold separately (see sewing services below should you wish to have these items attached by us before shipping.)
The DDWJ is a bolero-style jacket with a narrow shawl collar and three 23-ligne Coast Guard gilt buttons running down each side of the front. It is normally worn without front closure, but female Guardsmen are authorized to add to chain-linked closure with two
28-ligne CG gold buttons (also sold separately) that is a standard feature on the men’s version of the DDWJ.
Note: We manufacture and ship our military dress coats and jackets with unfinished sleeves longer than most customers would ever need. This is to accommodate various arm lengths and to minimize total alteration costs, since placement of sleeve devices and sleeve stripes or services stripes on some garments is predicated on the distance from the sleeve end. It also provides you with an abundance of material with which to work during the alteration process.
We offer a variety of sleeve alteration services, including sewing on of shoulder loops that are shipped unattached with this jacket, that will be suggested to you when add the coat to your shopping cart.
