Mandated for all female Gold Badge Command Master Chiefs and at some point in the future the Guard's first female Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard, the Female Enlisted Dinner Dress Blue Jacket Uniform (DDBJ) shares all the same design features of the Female Officer version, with the only exceptions being the manner in which rank is displayed on the uniform’s jacket sleeves. The DDBJ is a cold-weather uniform worn at official evening functions, as well as at formal event (weddings, dances, receptions, presentations, theatrical or symphonic productions, etc.) at which civilians would wear black-tie attire.
The focal point of the Female DDBJ is the bolero-style Evening Jacket featuring a narrow shawl collar and three 23-ligne gold Coast Guard buttons down each side of the front of the jacket; a pair of 28-ligne gold buttons with linked-chain closure, like those found on the version of the uniform worn by males, is an optional choice. Also optional is the choice of skirt or slacks, but there are certain conditions under which skirts may not be worn; these are delineated in section 3.C.6. of the Coast Guard Uniform Regulations (COMDINST M1020.6J).
Our Uniform Builder for the Female Enlisted DDBJ simplifies the process of putting together this formal ensemble by gathering all its basic and optional components on a single page; if a required component is not displayed below, it means we are currently of stock of that item.
