The United States Coast Guard’s Service Dress Blue Uniform for Male Officers is one of six Dress uniforms that all Coast Guard Officers (including Chief Warrant Officers, or CWOs) must own regardless of their rank. It comes in two configurations: the less-formal Bravo version is worn year-round for occasions where civilians would wear a coat and tie, while the Alpha is appropriate for events that call for more formality but not so much as to require the Full Dress or Dinner Dress Uniforms. The Bravo configuration features a blue shirt with epaulettes on which shoulder boards are worn (instead of the white Alpha shirt with no epaulettes), and a Garrison Cap may be prescribed with the Bravo in addition to the Combination Cap.
Our Coast Guard Uniform Builder makes assembling an Officer’s Service Dress Blue Uniform a snap even if you’re starting from scratch. Simply select your Officer grade or Chief Warrant Officer grade and specialty in the Rank Selection box below and the Builder will automatically select the appropriate Combination Cap, Garrison Cap device, Sleeve Striping, Sleeve Device, and Shoulder Boards (we encourage double-checking the selections, however). Note: Grade-specific tie tacks and tie clasps for Commissioned Officers must be manually selected.
