USMC ANDODIZED OPEN FACE BELT BUCKLE
This anodized belt buckle may be worn with either the cotton khaki or white nylon web belt. With the khaki belt, it is used with the Marine Corps Combat Utility uniform by all personnel, while male Marines also wear it with the Service and Dress trousers; the khaki belt with anodized open-face buckle is also an optional-wear item for males wearing the white dress trousers.
When used on the white nylon web belt, it may be worn only by males SNCOs on the white dress trousers of the Blue-White “A/B” uniform. This is due to the fact that, despite the introduction of new regulations designed to have the appearance of male and female Marines be as close to the same as possible--along with the fact that women have worn slacks with belts for decades—the Corps continues to issue female Dress and Service trousers without belt loops.
