Our set of three half-inch sleeve stripes for Merchant Marine service and dress uniforms comes in either gold or silver lacing, with each of the three lacing rolls measuring thirty inches—more than enough material to cover two uniform sleeves regardless of size. We offer the stripes in silver lacing because it is a popular option for many Merchant Marine Companies.
Merchant Marine stripes are worn on both sleeves of a service or dress uniform jacket, with 1/4-inch spacing between adjacent stripes and 2 inches of spacing between the end of the sleeve and the bottom of the lowest stripe.
Customers who have purchased these Merchant Marine sleeve stripes in the past have also expressed an interest in the sleeve devices worn by officers in the
Deck,
Engine, and
Steward departments, as well as the collar devices for
Deck,
Engine, and
Steward department personnel.
Note: The gold stripes may be worn on U.S. Maritime Service uniforms, but Merchant Marine stripes do not include configurations equivalent to Lieutenant (junior grade) or Lieutenant Commander. We recommend USMS customers visit our Navy Lacings page for a complete array of lacing sets for ranks O-1 to O-10.
