Brass or gold-colored tips are worn on black, white, and khaki belts in a variety of services, including the Army, Navy, U.S. Merchant Marine, Coast Guard, and the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service. As our Size selector indicates, the Large size conforms to the Army’s regulations for buckles on belts worn by males, Small is for the buckles on belts worn by females. You can see the dimensions for
those on our Gold buckle page.
Each of these services has their own particular rules of wear regarding belts using brass or gold-colored tips. Only Officers and CPOs wear this color belt tip in the Navy, for example, with Petty Officers and non-rate Sailors wearing silver; the Navy also has regulations regarding which side of the buckle the clip should be worn on.
