This lacing set for the discontinued Navy’s Aviation Working Green (AWG) Uniform contains three 30-inch rolls of black lacing for the sleeve rank insignia of Commander (O-5), which consists of three half-inch wide stripes (they encircle the sleeve) on both sleeves, with one-half-inch of spacing between the stripes. Each roll is more than enough fabric for two stripes.
Also part of the Commander’s insignia for the Aviation Green uniform is the sleeve device, a black five-pointed star with Forestry Green trim, worn by Officers of the Line a half-inch above the topmost stripe. (Staff Officers wearing the AWG used collar devices for rank and Corps insignia.) Visit our
Navy Sleeve Devices page to add the star sleeve device to your shopping cart.
Customers purchasing lacing and sleeve devices for an AWG Uniform jacket they are purchasing from us might wish to add the Lacing and Sleeve Sewing Device Service to their orders. We expertly hem the jacket to your specifications and attach the sleeve stripes and sleeve devices when processing your order so you receive this classic item ready to wear. Already an AGW jacket to your cart but didn’t choose this optional service? Simply delete the jacket from your cart and then add it back to confirm you'd like this convenient service.
Although the phase-out date for the AWG was 2011, we carry this classic uniform in response to a significant demand from veterans seeking to replace the uniform they wore during their time in the service, often (but not always) due to sizing issues. We also manufacture the AWG for motion-picture and TV production companies seeking authentic AWG Uniforms for documentaries and fictional stories set during the time when this distinct working uniform was part of the Navy Seabag.
