The AWG Uniform was a part of the seabag for Chiefs serving in an Naval Aviation rating up until 2011, when it was replaced by the unpopular Type I Naval Working Uniform. Like the Service Dress Khaki Uniform that was discontinued in 2012, the AWG Uniform featured a coat with two breast pockets and two lower front pockets, all constructed with a scalloped design and button-through flaps.
Although brown shoes were actually prohibited from being worn with this uniform from 1975 to 1986, they became the most popular choice following the relaxation of footwear rules (Note: they are worn with khaki socks). Green trousers, khaki shirt, khaki belt with gold clip and buckle, black four-in-hand tie, and a khaki Combination Cap round the AWG basic components; optional items include (but are not limited to) overshoes, earmuffs, and a ball cap, while prescribable components are a Green Garrison Cap, black safety shoes, Reefer, and an All-Weather Coat.
