The Navy equivalent of a civilian’s black-tie attire, the Dinner Dress Blue Jacket Uniform (DDBJ) for Chief Petty Officers and Junior Enlisted (E1 to E6) Sailors is an optional uniform hat may be worn to events when the Dinner Dress Blue Uniform has been prescribed and civilian attire is black tie.
A bolero-style jacket with a narrow shawl collar and three 22.5-ligne Navy Eagle buttons on each side of the front is the focal point of the Female DDBJ. The Chief Petty Officer (E7 and above) version of the jacket comes with gold buttons instead of the silver employed on the Junior Enlisted version; our Uniform Builder will select the appropriate style when you enter your rate and rating in the Branch of Service drop-down selection box. It will also automatically select the correct cummerbund (gold for CPO, black for Junior Enlisted), cuff links (gold for CPO, silver for JE), and shirt studs (gold for CPO, black for JE).
