Brass or gold-colored buckles are authorized for wear with black, white and khaki belts worn with a variety of service and dress uniforms in the Army, Navy, U.S. Maritime Service/Merchant Marine, Coast Guard, and the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service. They are worn with brass or gold-colored belt tips; in the Navy, they are worn by Officers and CPOs (Petty Officers and non-rated Sailors wear silver buckles). Army regulations specify a male version that is 1 and 11/16 inches long and 1 and 5/8 inches wide, while the female version that is 1 and 1/8 inches by 2 inches.
