Although it is not listed as a basic component of any Navy Female uniform, the Dress Blue Skirt is an optional item for Officers and Chief Petty Officers when wearing the Dinner Dress Blue/White Jacket, Dinner Dress Blue, Full Dress Blue, and Service Dress Blue Uniforms. For Junior Enlisted females, the Dress Blue Skirt is optional with either the Dinner Dress Blue/White Jacket uniforms. Manufactured at our North Carolina production facility using Mil-Spec authorized fabric, our Dress Blue Skirt is six-gored (paneled) and features a waistband pocket in the upper right front.
The Navy Dress Blue Skirt is also worn by female personnel in the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) and United States Merchant Marine (USMM).
Personnel that opt for the Dress Blue Skirt with an authorized uniform must wear a flesh-tone hosiery with the skirt’s side zipper on the left. The skirt is not authorized for wear aboard ship, but it may stored aboard ship and worn when immediately departing or returning to the ship. The hem of the skirt should fall to 1.5 inches above or below the crease behind the knee.
