In the Navy, women's Service Dress White Slacks are listed as basic components of the Navy's Service Dress White, Dinner Dress White, and Full Dress White Uniforms worn by Female Officers and Chief Petty Officers. The slacks are worn with the same uniforms in the Coast Guard, but the Service Dress and Full Dress White uniforms are for Officers only, while the Dinner Dress White is mandatory for O-4 (Lieutenant Commander) Officers and higher as well as a select group of Enlisted personnel; it is an optional purchase for all other female Guardsmen.
Navy Regulations specify that properly fitted Slacks will have a two-inch hem to ensure there is enough material for adjustments and that the bottom of the legs hang approximately two inches from the floor at the back of the shoe. (Coast Guard regulations do not address these issues but presumably they apply.)
The Service Dress White Slacks are also worn with uniforms of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service.
Note: We ship our slacks unfinished so you can have them adjusted to provide a perfect fit. However, the option to have our alterations team hem your slacks—based upon your measurements and according to your service's specifications—will be offered when you add the slacksto your shopping cart.
