First introduced in 1886, hard shoulder boards arrived around the same time as a white version of the Service Dress uniform was introduced (in response to ever-increasing visits to the Far East). There’s something especially eye-catching about the rich, dark blue of a hard shoulder board and the almost pure white of the Service Dress White Coat, often referred to as the “choker” or “choker coat.”
To attach hard shoulders board to the Service Dress White coat, you’ll need sew on loops onto the shoulders. The material we use for our white shoulder loops is manufactured from the same certified fabric that we used to craft the choker and dinner dress white jacket and is sure to last the life of the coat.
Customers who purchase the Service Dress White Coat from us receive this shoulder-loop material free of charge, with more than enough to sew loops onto both jacket shoulders. We also offer a sewing service for customers who buy their choker from us, so when they receive their coat it will be ready for mounting of hard shoulder boards.
Just ordering the shoulder-loop fabric? Rest assured there’s far more than you need to sew adequate loops on both shoulders of the choker.
