The U.S. Air Force Women’s Enlisted Service Dress Uniform is also called the Semi-Formal Uniform when all its components except the nametag are worn. It is can be worn as either a Class A Uniform (all components including coat) or as the Class B Uniform—also called the Service Blue Uniform—when the Service Dress Coat is not worn.
Mandatory components of the Women’s Enlisted Service Dress Uniform include:
♦ Women's Service Dress Coat (with chevrons)
♦ Women’s Blue Blouse
♦ Women's slacks (straight-hanging with front and back waist darts)
♦ Blue skirt (optional, hosiery required)
♦ Blue inverted-V tie tab (polyester herringbone)
♦ Blue belt (cotton web or elastic), silver tip and buckle
♦ Black dress shoes (Dress boots, pumps, slip-ons optional)
♦ Nametag and US lapel insignia
♦ Chaplain, Aeronautical and Space badges are mandatory
Women’s Enlisted Service Dress Uniforms feature the same basic construction as the uniforms worn by Air Force Officers, but lack the epaulets on the shoulders (for placement of pin-on rank insignia) and sleeve stripes on the slacks (one-and-a-half inches wide for General, a half-inch wide for all other Officers). Additionally, the US Lapel pins worn by Enlisted personnel have the letters inside a circle not found on the Officers’ version.
