The United States Air Force’s Women’s Officer Service Dress Uniform utilizes the same basic design as the one worn by Enlisted women, but comes with epaulets on both shoulders (for pin-on rank insignia) and two types of sleeve stripes (one for Generals and another for all other Officers).
Mandatory components of the Women’s Class A Service Dress Uniform include:
♦ Women's Service Dress Coat (with shoulder boards)
♦ Women’s Blue Blouse (long- or short-sleeved
♦ Blue Slacks (straight-hanging with front and back waist darts)
♦ Blue Skirt (optional, hosiery required)
♦ Blue inverted-V tie tab (polyester herringbone)
♦ Blue belt (cotton web or elastic), silver tip and buckle
♦ Black dress shoes (Dress boots, pumps, slip-ons optional)
♦ Nametag and US lapel insignia
♦ Chaplain, Aeronautical and Space badges are mandatory
♦ All or some ribbons
When all the components of the uniform are worn it is called the Class A uniform; it becomes the Class B uniform (also called the Service Blue Uniform) when it is worn without the Coat. The Class A version without the nametag is the Semi-Formal Uniform.
