Three 1/2-inch stripes serve as the Coast Guard Auxiliary’s sleeve insignia for Auxiliarists who have been elected Division Commander (DCDR) or appointed a District Directorate Chief (DDC), Auxiliary Sector Coordinator (ASC), Deputy Dir (DIRd), Division Chief (DVC), or Fellow.
The lacing set for this insignia contains three 30” rolls of 1/2-inch-wide synthetic silver lace that is worn on the sleeve’s of the Auxiliary’s Dinner Dress Blue Jacket (which is actually black) and the Service Dress Blue Coat. Place the stripe closest to the sleeve end two inches from and parallel to the cuff, then place each of the next two stripes 1/4-inch above the preceding one. Each lace circles the entire sleeve and is sewn into place at the sleeve’s back seam.
An Auxiliary Shield sleeve device worn 1/4-inch above the topmost lace indicates the type of leadership position the wearer is holding through a red or blue “A.” District Commanders wear the blue “B” indicating they were selected by a vote, while all others wearing the Shield with a red “A” were appointed to their roles.
