Reserved for civilian or military events that require formal wear—think white- and black-tie affairs—shirt studs can be worn only on shirts that have been specifically designed to accommodate them (men’s Dinner Dress Blue Jacket and men’s Dinner Dress White Jacket uniforms) by adding a small slit above the traditional shirt button. Simply slide the stud through the slit from inside the shirt and then use it to button your shirt, and the placket (the vertical strip where buttonholes are located) will completely hide the white plastic buttons.
Although the Coast Guard Uniform Regulations do not specifically mandate the wear shirt studs whenever cuff links are worn, it is a bit of a sartorial to do so. Customers who have purchased these shirt studs have also expressed a strong interest in our
