Issued in large and small sizes for men and women respectively, Marine Corps Corporal sew-on chevrons are worn Dress and Service uniforms. When attached, they must be sewn on with a straight machine stitch using thread that matches the background material of the insignia.
Use the Size and Finish selection boxes to the right to specify the size and style of the insignia you need. Finish colors are listed as chevron (or stripe) color on backing color. Gold chevrons on a red background are worn exclusively on the sleeves of Blue Dress coats (Blue Dress “A/B”), while green on red are worn on both sleeves of the Service Uniform coat (Service “A”). Green stripes on a khaki background are reserved for long-and short-sleeve khaki shirts.
On both coats, the Corporal chevrons are positioned point up and centered horizontally on the outer half of the coat sleeve, with the tip of the insignia four inches from the shoulder seam. The same rules are followed for attaching Corporal chevrons to long-sleeve khaki shirts. For short-sleeve shirts, insignia are centered vertically between the shoulder seam and sleeve hem (men’s) or between the seam and the peak of the cuff (women's).
