We offer the khaki necktie in two sizes, Regular (57 inches) and XL (61 inches), to ensure that taller Marines don’t have to re-tie a knot three or four times trying to make the tie long enough to conform to regulations. Choose the XL if you’re 6’3” or taller, your neck size is 17.5" or more, or if the combination (in inches) of your height and neck size is 91 or greater.
The khaki necktie is worn by men with the Service “A” and “B” as well as the Blue Dress “C” uniforms (women wear green necktabs in lieu of neckties with these uniforms). Marines may use any type of knot style they wish so long as it presents a neat, military appearance (which includes the bottom of the tie falling somewhere between a half-inch above or below the belt buckle).
A tie clasp must be worn with the necktie whenever the long-sleeve khaki shirt is worn as the outer garment (Service “B” and Blue Dress “C”). Tie clasps are positioned horizontally midway between the third and fourth buttons from the top of the khaki shirt.
