This cotton khaki web belt is 1-1/4” wide and is worn by both male and female Marines with the Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform (MCCUU) until they have completed the first level of training in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP). Introduced in 2001, the MCMAP uses a colored-belt system similar to the ones employed by a variety of martial-arts disciplines to indicate the wearer’s level of proficiency.
On the MCCUU, the tip of the belt is passed through the buckle to the wearer’s left so that it extends between 2 to 4 inches from the buckle, with the buckle tongue depressed into the buckle. The khaki web belt is also worn by male Marines in the same manner with the Service and Dress Blue; it is an optional-wear item for male Marines with the White Dress trousers. In all cases, the buckle and tip are to be kept highly polished.
